Midori Precisions Co., Ltd. was founded in 1952 in Japan as the manufacturer of electromechanical transducers. These early products were created by the wire-wound potentiometer technology to be offered in the precisions instrumentation market. By 1970, Midor developed technology that was able to offer precision conductive plastic instruments to its product line (The Green Pot product line). During the 1980's Midori pioneered another technology, the contactless magneto-resistive potentiometer (The Blue Pot product line). In 1994, Midori introduced another contactless potentiometer line which adapted the Hall Effect IC as a sensing element offering an instrument with improved function and cost efficiency to the product line (The Orange Pot product line). In 2010, Midori developed inclinometers using MEMS technology and has started the development of magnetic and optical encoders and inductive linear sensors since 2017.
